Hi Lauren: I just returned from my first visit to Nova Scotia, seeking information about my great-grandparents. My great-grandfather, James Henry Lafford, II, married (Lady) Margaret Ellen O'Hearn in Halifax on 9-21-1886 and they lived at Grand Greve, outside of St. Peter's on Cape Breton.
Margaret died in Halifax (possibly during childbirth) on 8-11-1894. She was born in Ireland in 1861, the daughter of James O'Hearn and Ellen Day. She apparently lost her title of Lady when she married a commoner
in Nova Scotia. I don't know if that O'Hearn fits into what you are doing, but I hope it helps. If you might have any info that might help me, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, John
