Hi Lauren:

I don't know if I can be of much help, because at the moment in this line of the family, I'm working with very limited information myself. I certainly don't have information as far back as 1873, but the O'Hearns in our family come from Canso, Nova Scotia, if that is of any help.

Have you tried the FamilySearch database at:
http://www.familysearch.org/

It's still not complete, and there are not very many Canadian records yet, but it has a lot of early information from the USA and the UK.
