Martin O'Hearn 1835-1895
I am trying to find my great grandfather, Martin O'Hearn. It is believed that the family came from County Kilkenny, but I'm not sure if Martin was the immigrant. Martin married Bridget McGuiness(we are unsure of the spelling) They had three children: James, John and Mary Jane. Bridget died in childbirth with Mary (01/09/1861) as the family crossed to Oregon by wagon. Mary was adopted by William and Susan Whalen of Logansport, Indiana and was brought on to Oregon with them. James and John (quite a bit older than Mary) disappeared and were not seen again. Martin later found his daughter, Mary in Oregon and died there. Mary married George Vincent and they were the parents of my father, James Martin Vincent. I would be grateful for any information out there....
