Anyone recognise the following families? Are you a descendant of or connected to same families?
PATRICK MURRAY, a farmer was married to CATHERINE O'HARE (O'HEA / O'HAIRE or similar). I suspect they may be of the MURRAY and O'HARE families that farmed on the Annesley Estate lands in the townland areas of Drumaroad, Ballywillwill, Slievenisky and Clanavaraghan in the Castlewellan area of County Down. Ireland.
Their son JAMES MURRAY was born about 1826 and married at Ballywillwill, Down about 1847 to BRIDGET McMILLAN (the daughter of PATRICK McMILLAN and BRIDGET SMITH).
Their son JOHN MURRAY was born about 1849? and James and Bridget Murray then moved over to Dalmellington , Ayrshire, Scotland where other children were born -
MARY MURRAY in 1853. She married a Robert Keys.
PETER MURRAY born January 1856. He married Helen Neeson)
JAMES MURRAY born September 1857
THOMAS MURRAY born September 1859
HUGH MURRAY born November 1861
CATHERINEMURRAY born March 1864. Died as a child.
OWEN MURRAY born May 1867.
It is thought that Patrick and Catherine Murray nee O'Hare remained in Ireland and are probably buried in the same area?
The male Christian names John/Patrick/Owen/Edward/James and Hugh were commonly used among the Scottish line.
