Janene, In 1885 Iowa State Census all the children in the household of Stewart & Angeline Sample are named Hunt except for Perletta? Sample. Hannah Hunt was born abt 1872 so John was alive until then. Angeline had remarried by 1875 since she and Stewart had a child by then.
John's siblings were: Harriet md 1st Dr. John Gaddis, 2nd Jasper Harless;Eliza Jane Hunt md Joseph O. Diemer; Benjamin Stephen Hunt md Susan E. Howell; Adelaide S. Hunt md Calloway Rodgers. Eliza is buried in Greene Co., MO and the rest are buried in Douglas Co., MO. There are lots of family stories, some pictures, letters, and other Fletchers besides John. In 1850 census of Columbus, Franklin Co. OH Adelaide and Eliza are living with Mary Fletcher who is identified as a seamstress in the tax lists of Franklin Co. It seems that the girls went to live with Mary and the boys stayed with John Fletcher. I will be glad to share more later. Joanna Baker
