In 1831, Venice was in Huron County. Huron was formed in 1809 but Erie county wasn't formed until 1838.

David Fletcher's death cert said his race/color was red or an American Indian.

There is no mention of any FLETCHERs in the Erie or Huron County sections of Henry Howe's book, "Historical Collections of Ohio", http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~henryhowesbook/, but there are some references to native Indian tribes in the area.

I am not related.
