Bill, thanks so much for this information. I haven't sent for Robert's death certificate yet because when I sent for my father's, they gave me a copy with a corner turned up on the original that obscured all the information that I wanted to read, but I guess it's time to try again.

Do you happen to know if there are any of these records on-line? There are two words written beneath Johnie's name on the Bible page, but I can't make out what they are. Perhaps the date you found is his date of death. Is it possible to order a death certificate from 1887 from Lucas County Probate Court? I really need to do some footwork, but it is difficult with an ill husband. You don't know how much I appreciate your helping me with this. Thank you again.
