In the 1910 census: in Portage Twp., Alfred H. Drain, pg. 258A; in Bloom Twp., Charles W. Ball, pg.168A, Alonzo Ball, pg. 138A; in Liberty Twp., Mary Ball, pg.136B. From the Wood Co. death records pre-1908: Charles E Drain, d.6 May 1891 in Liberty Twp., married, 36yrs,7mos, born England; Alfred Drain, d.15 Feb 1894 in Portage Twp., married, 73yrs, born Vermont; Fannie Ball, d.30 Mar 1894 in Bowling Green, widow, born England; Eli Ball, d.6 May 1897 in Center Twp., 11 mos,12dys, born Center Twp. There is a biography of A.M. Drain in the 1875 Wood Co. Atlas- his parents were Samuel & Lozena Drain, his siblings were Harlow, Dienna, Nancy, Charles, Louis, & Lurnnie. He was twice married, first in Illinois, second was in Sandusky in 1857. His children: Florence, Ophelia, Anthonette, Sally, Alfred, Blanche, May Lillie & Francis A. He is also listed in the Liberty Twp. directory in the same book: A.M. Drain, post office Portage, born Vermont, moulder & farmer, resides Liberty Twp. section #1, settled in Wood Co. in 1864.
