There is a community nearby named Elmore, and according to a book I read, land was cheap. The book was written by Grace Luebke, "A History Preserved Elmore, Ohio". I don't have the book with me, but I want to say German immigrants started coming into the area around the mid-1830's. Perrysburg, Elmore, Woodville, Luckey, and Pemberville all had many German folk. My relatives came from Germany to New York, then to Wood Co., Ohio. Once in Ohio, it looks like the family was reunited with friends already there.
