Hello,

I am looking for more information on my ancestors in Williams Co., OH. My great great great grandfather Samuel Brown (b.1787 MD d.1868 Hamar, Williams Co.) married Susanna McGaw in Tuscarawas Co. in 1819 and had their children there, but then the family moved to Williams Co. between 1842 and 1852. Their son Joseph Brown (b.1830) married Mary Ann Bender at DeKalb Co., IN in 1852. (Rev. Joseph Brown was an elder in the NW Ohio Conference of the United Brethren Evangelical Church., and served both Williams Co. and DeKalb & Steuben Co. IN.) Their children were Warren (b.1853 Williams Co.), Permelia (b.1850 DeKalb Co.), Mary Olivia (b.1857 DeKalb Co.), William H. (b.1859 DeKalb Co.), Emma (b.1866 Hamar, Williams Co.), George Emerson (b.1870 Williams Center, OH) and my great grandmother Ethel May Brown (b.1873 Williams Center, Williams Co.). Rev. Joseph Brown (d. 1893) and his wife Mary Ann Bender Brown (d.1885) are both buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steuben Co., IN.

This is literally all I know, which looks like a lot, but its mostly just dates. I don't know anything about Rev. Joseph Brown except what his faith was. What did the family do, etc? What did the Old Man Samuel do and when/why did he come there? Was he a Reverend too? Any info. on anything regarding this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Melinda McCoy
