YES, IT IS VERY POSSIBLE, THE EARLIER IN TIME, THE BETTER THE CHANCES FOR A SPELLING VARIATION OF WIRTH. I HAVE SEEN IT SPELLED IN OUR LINES ABOUT 20 DIFFERENT WAYS: WIRTH, WERT, WIRT, WERTZ, WORZ, WIRZ, WURTZ, WUERTZ, VIRT, VERT, VIRTS, VERTS, VIRTZ, ETC. THE FIRST JOB WOULD BE CHECKING THE EARLIEST CENSUS INFORMATION FOR THE COUNTY FOR ALL THESE SURNAME VARIATIONS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND OUT. ALSO, THERE COULD BE SOME WIRTH'S WITH A DIFFERENT SPELLING OF THE LAST NAME BURIED IN THE SAME CEMETERY...I EVEN FOUND THE SPELLING OF THE NAME AS WEST.
