Orsamus Palmer md. Elisabeth "Betsey" Stockwell born in NY in 1822. He said he was born in Canada but was a US citizen. They were parents of Manary Butler Palmer b. 1844 in Williams Co, OH., and Sidney born in Stueben, IN. The family lived in the Stueben Co/Williams Co area until aprox 1865. Manary married Margaret Melivina Richie in MI in 1871. Their children were Emma, b 6-1-1873 in MI, Mamey b. 12-9-98 in KS, and Jesse b.1884 born in Lyons, KS. Manary and Margaret last lived in MN..

I have the 1860 Census for Richland Township, Steuben Co, IN. On it are listed Orsamus, age 48.-farmer, born in Canada,.-- Elizabeth E, age 39 born in NY, --and Manary age 14 born in OH. The census is dated the fifth day of June , 1860. We suspect Sidney, the younger son, died in IN sometime before this census was taken as he was an est. two years younger than Manary. All four family members are on the 1850 census for Richland Township, Steuben Co, IN. I am trying to find parents of Orsamus.
