Peugeots -- the two Louis'
It appears that there were two Louis F. Peugeot's who lived in Stryker.Recently in an answer to a question, I discovered that a Louis F Peugeot, 1841-1902 was married (1862 in France) to a Julie Catherine Chenelot 1844 - 1920.Both Louis and Julie died in Stryker.Julie is buried in the French Cemetery, row 12. She lived with her daughter Amelia Yaney. His parents were Jean George Peugeot, 1805-1826 and Catherine Elisabeth Boillet 1828-1882.She is buried in row 11 in French Cemetery.
Julie's parents were Jean George Chenelot and Elizabeth Catherine Barbier (Barber). All of these people were from the Valentigney area of France.
Julie had a sister named Louise Catherine Chenelot 1830-1898 who is buried in row 15 of French Cemetery. She married a George Franklin Barbier.
Louis #1 was my great-grandfather born in 1849 and died in 1933.He came to America in 1866 and married Mary Louise Goll in 1876.He is buried in Oakwood (Stryker) Cemetery.
Peugeots, Boillots, Barbiers, and Chenelots all came from the same area in France and were in Stryker.I haven't found the connection yet between Louis#1 and Louis #2!
