I saw that you were familiar sorting out the Peugeot family in the Stryker Ohio region and wondered what you might offer me for my dilemma. My g-grandmother was Ella Barber (Barbier), it was my understanding that she was a Peugeot from her mother’s side – I have no good genealogy evidence of this; this has just been told me since birth. I was excited when a quick search in showed me Ella Barber b. March 1866 OH (and my g grandfather, her husband, Charles Stockford). However, it listed Ella’s parents as George F. Barber and Louise Catherine Chenelot - I rather expected George F.’s wife to be a Peugeot, so perhaps not right or perhaps Louise’s mother was a Peugeot – anyway, do you have any idea of how the Peugeot’s tie into this couple? I sent this to you after realizing that your family includes Besancon family name, many of which appeared to have married into the Barbier (Barber) family. Thanks for any help in clarifying for me where the connection between Peugeot and Barbier comes in re. Ella Barber.
