Hi Geri:
Well I know enough to be dangerous, I descend from George Barbier (1830+ - 1897) and (I believe) Louise Catherine Chenelot 1830 - 1898.My problem is that I was always told that somehow these folks were Peugeots (I think from her side - I always thought she was a Peugeot) so I was setting out to find that connection. In doing so, here is what I documented - -sorry can't say it is right:
Louis Frederic Peugeot (b. 12/16/41 d. Stryker, Ohio) who was married to Julie Catherine Chenelot (b. 3/12/1844 France, married 1862),had a first wife named Mary Louise Goll.It appears (but not sure that it is right) that he had a son Emile Louis Peugeot (b. 4/12/67 Doubs, France). It appears that Louis Frederic Peugeot parents were Jean George Peugeot (b. Dec. 2, 1826 and Catherine Elisabeth Boillot b. 1806)This looks funny because she was older than he?Let me know if you know any more or, especially, if you know where they came from in France.
Note; from what I see the barbier, chenelot, boillot, and peugeot families really inter-married?
Regards,
Cheryl
