My great-grandfather was Louis Frederic Peugeot. My mother always said that he said he was the 'poor' relation of the Peugeot family from France. I am curious about the connection (if any) between Louis Frederic and the Peugeots of Montbeliard and Valentigny who founded the Peugeot car company. I have learned about the Peugeot Brothers -- Jean-Pierre and Jean-Frederic who founded the the original factory. Supposedly Louis emigrated to avoid conscription and came to the area because of other French families who had settled here. I am really curious about the family connection.
