MILLER/MULLEN/SMITH/FEANDT

I am stuck on my family's genealogy. I'm hoping someone may be able to help. Here's what I know so far...

My ggg grandfather was named Elliot Miller (name also listed on several census records as B.E. Miller, Elit Miller, and Elliotte Miller; I theorize that the "B" stood for Burton, but am not certain... my gggrandfather's middle name was Burton and this sounds like a family name I cannot find anywhere else) born about 1820 in Pennsylvania (location in PA unknown; census records have his birth year listed anywhere between 1818-1824; I lean towards 1820 because of his tombstone). He more than likely had at least two brothers, probably named John and Jacob. The Millers moved to Wayne Co., OH and there Elliot married his first wife, Caroline Fiandt (or Feandt, Fiadt) DOB around 1822 also in PA. They had several children including: Cyrus who served in the 128th OVI Co. C during the Civil War, Benjamin who I've been told was a doctor, Rebecca who died at the age of 18, and Elizabeth who's married name became either Cassel or Cassil. (these are not in age order; I apologize). Elliot is listed to have been a farmer on every census record.

Sometime between 1850-1857, Elliot moved his family to Bridgewater Township, Williams Co. OH. It seems by census records and land records mailed to me from the Williams County Library that a good amount of the extended Miller family did as well. Caroline died in 1857 and is buried in Gardner Cem in Bridgewater. Their daughter Rebecca died in 1860 of what is listed as "consumption," also buried in the same plot. I assume this may have been a family plot... I am of the belief through various records that one of Elliot's brothers was married to a woman who's maiden name was Gardner.

Elliot remarried Mary Amanda Mullen (my ggg grandmother; DOB 1839 or 1840 from Columbiana Co., OH) about 1863. They also resided in Bridgewater. They had one son, William Burton Miller (my gg grandfather; DOB abt 1868). Elliot died in Jan 1879 or 1880; cause unknown to me. He was buried in Gardner Cemetery next to Caroline and Rebecca (I have not been to this cemetery and all I know is from what the Williams Co. Library sent me because I cannot find this cemetery online anywhere)

William Burton Miller married Anna Lucretia Smith (my gg grandmother) of Bridgewater Township about 1899 or 1900. They had several children including my grandfather, Robert Alexander Miller, and then moved to Michigan about 1920, I believe.

Mary Amanda (Mullen) Miller (my ggg grandmother) never remarried and resided in Williams County until she died in 1927. She went by her middle name of Amanda (this is how she lists herself at least starting on the 1880 census) and her obituary said people affectionately called her "Aunt 'manda"; she apparently was well known around the town. She was buried in Gardner Cemetery with my ggg grandfather, his first wife, their daughter and an infant child whom I believe MAY have been of William and Anna. This is where my ancestry in Ohio pretty much stops because I don't see any other family members having moved back there... at least, any that I could find.

All the information has been notes my father has collected since he was ten years old, the help of some wonderful libraries and researchers in Ohio and membership to Ancestry.com. We know virtually nothing else about this part of my family. I would like to know where in Pennsylvania my Miller family was from, more about Amanda Miller's life and just really anything else anyone could tell me.

Any information, no matter how obscure, vague or probably unrelated, would be GREATLY appreciated. I am also happy to share the documents I have as well if it were to be any help to anyone else.

Please email me at nancyem1983@yahoo.com

Thank you so much!

Nancy E. Miller
