For more information on the Grisier Family, you may want to contact [email protected] by e-mail.Beryl and his sister-in-law, Colleen Grisier are knowledgeable about the family lines and would be of help, I'm sure. The Grisier line has been traced back to France, where one of the Grisiers was mayor of a town there.
As for the Beatty family, The ones I know of lived in the Ney, Ohio area, which is now in Defiance County. Wandus Mae Collins (maiden name - Beatty) was my ex-husband's grandmother. She often talked of her homelife and some of her relatives. Her dad was a farmer and bred terriers ("ratters" they called them) and her grandfather was a preacher. One of the grandfather's daughters ran off a few times and her dad and Grandfather would go "fetch her home." She took the train to NY once and was (if I remember correctly) dancing in a house of ill repute. (or something similar).
I wish I had wrote these things down while she was still here! No one I know of has traced their line, or published any family histories.
