Roux were from Seloncourt and married into the Planson family, also from France. One of the daughters married a Peugeot, from Valentigney, close to Seloncourt. I have in an excerpt from a book on Plansons, that Alice Emilie Peugeot was the daughter of Louis Frederic Peugeot and Mary Louise Goll. Then I discovered the following:
Louis Frederic Peugeot, b. Dec 16, 1841, Valentigney, d 1902, Stryker, Williams County, Ohio, buried French Cemetery. But his wife was: Julie Catherine Chenelot.
She was born in 1844, Valentigney and died in 1920 in Stryker, Williams County, Ohio, buried French Cemetery. They were married in Valentigney in 1862 and had the following children:Louis Frederic, Louis Lucien, Emile Louis, and Aline Eugenie, by 1869. Alice Emilie Peugeot was born in 1880, so since Julie Catherine Chenelot didn't die until 1920, did her husband divorce her and marry Mary Louise Goll? I've found no other Louis Frederic Peugeot in census records for Stryker, so he has to be the same one as Alice Emilie's father. I have several Peugoeots in the line from Valentigney/Audincourt, but haven't connected with this branch except by marriage to the Plansons.
I also have Juillards/Renaud/Depoutot/Louys/Barbier/Ponsot and Roux that I'm researching of Seloncourt, Vandoncourt, and Valentigney..all of Doubs, France.
