Hi Lee,
I'm not exactly sure other than what a swamp is, track of wet, spongy, low-lying ground; marsh. Maybe the Bryan Library would have some information about it since they have a good section on genology and information about the county. I wish I could tell you the right answer. Maybe I had better go to the Library and do some research for myself.
