Westrall Willoughby Gunn
Posted by: James Gunn (ID *****5624) Date: July 09, 2013 at 07:07:19
  of 1002

Married Betsey Sharpe in Sheffield, Ashtabula, Ohio in September 1827. Westrall settled in Wayne County after his marriage and engaged in the legal business and also in farming, in connection with droving, being one of the oldest dealers in cattle in Ohio. He drove cattle to Buffalo until 1867, in which year he moved to Eaton County, Michigan. He and his wife raised their family in Ashtabula; they had fourteen children, eight boys and six girls. Two of the sons, Perry and Christopher Conrad, enlisted in military during the Civil War, Perry in the 13th Wisconsin Infantry, serving nine months. He was injured at the battle of Pittsburg Landing, and Christopher in the 6th Ohio Calvary (commanded by General Sheridan).

To date there is not much information on this family during their time in Ohio. Any help would be appreciated. See: http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Westrall_Gunn_%281%29
