I don't know if this will be of any help....can't send the file, so will abstract it. You may have it already, but it's here for anyone else researching this family. RW PENSION Cortland NY Joseph HOLLEY served 1-1-1776 to 12-1776 from CT under command of Capt Luther STODDARD [another page says Capt HOLLEY]. Joseph sold his 50 ac to sons Stephen and Isaac 3-18-1818. 1828 Joseph ae 73; w/Sarah ae 76; Stephen ae 44; Isaac ae 31....all resided Freetown, NY. Stephen & Isaac both gave affidavits [I don't see Xs by anyone's name, so assuming all could read/write] The boys had been supporting their parents for the past 8yrs. Joseph rec'd $8 mo commencing 12-15-1828 No further info re: b/place or death If I'm reading this correctly he 1st applied 1820. I find it interesting he sold his property to his sons the same day the RW Pension was enacted! I obtained this from Heritage Quest, but just noticed it is also on Ancestry, if you subscribe. HQ is 7pg; Ancestry is 21 pgs! Joseph entered into service Canaan, Litchfield CT. Unfortunately there is a processing error on the last pages, so nothing further. If Sarah survived, it might have her info on these pgs. Interesting to note, he WAS called upon to explain the sale date of his property. Could this be a possibility for a wife? 1-21-1781 Joseph HAWLEY m. Elizabeth WEBSTER,Farmington CT Are Polly & Joseph both bur Medina OH. It looks like Polly d Wayne Co bef 1860. 1830 census Stephen had 2sons/3 daus. I would imagine he has son Joseph. Dad Joseph/Sarah still living.
