Mathewson or Mathison, 1820, Washington, Wayne CO

Looking for information regarding the Mathewsons or Mathisons found in the 1820 census listings for Washington, Wayne County, OH: William and James. They appear to have moved to OH around 1815 and appear in the 1820, 30, 40 census listings in Holmes County, mostly around Ripley. I believe James was married to an Elizabeth, and they had at least two sons: Robert and James, Jr.. I don't know where this family came from prior to PA, but James Jr. later moved to Marshall County, IN. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Susan
