I have been stuck at Jacob BARCH, b. ca 1817 Pa for some time. His parents died when he was young so it has been hard to locate anything.
Wayne Daily Record?, 23 Aug 1893, pg 4:
Jacob Barch, one of the oldest residents of West Salem died on Wednesday eve, Aug 16, aged 76 years, 6 months, and 25 days. He was born in Lancaster Co, Pa Jan 25, 1817. His parents died while he was yet young, and in 1837 he came to Congress township, this county. He served an apprenticeship to the cooper trade, and in 1840 was married to Miss Elizabeth Smith, and settled 1 1/2 miles north of the town of Congress. To this union were born one son and three daughters; of these the son is living in Cleveland; one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Kingston, in St. Paul, Minn, another Mrs. Lou. Blye, lives in Coldwater, Mich, the third has been dead for some years. In 1844 Mr. Barch came to West Salem and has lived in his late residence ever since. In 1862 his wife died, and in 1863 he was again married, this time to Mrs. Mary A. Barone. Three children, two sons and one daughter were the fruit of this union, all of whom are living, the two sons in Cleveland, and the daughter, Nellie at home. Mr. Barch became a christian in 1845, and was one of the founders of the M. E. Church of this place, and maintained a consistent christian character until his death. The funeral was held from the residence of the family, and was conducted by Rev. Martindale. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.

BARCH -- At West Salem, Wayne Co, O, Wednesday, Aug 16, 1893, Jacob Barch, a resident there since 1844 and born in Lancaster Co, Pa, Jan 25, 1817. His parents died while he was yet young, and in 1837 he came to Congress township, this county. Of marriage in 1840 to Elizabeth Smith, there is a son living in Cleveland; Mrs. Jennie Kingston, in St. Paul, Minn; Mrs. Lou Blye, lives in Coldwater, Mich; the third has been dead for some years. In 1862 his wife died, and in 1863 he married Mrs. Mary A. Barone. The two sons live in Cleveland and the daughter Nellie at home. He was a founder of West Salem M. E. Church.
