Peggy, Thank you for the information. This is our Simon Moats although I found that he and Christina Fry Moats never left Ohio. Also that they retained the orginal spelling of their last name which was MOTZ. Some of the sons changed the spelling to MOATS. Peter who married Caroline Still as shown in the marriage records was one of the sons who changed the spelling to MOATS. Peter and Caroline were my husbands Great Grandparents.
