From the book History of Wayne County, Ohio page 840:
Jacob Garver was born near Hagerstown, MD 6-16-1800. His father was a farmer, and removed from MD to Fayette county, PA., in 1802 and died there in 1829. Jacob followed farming, and married Mary Lucas, 8-4-1822. In 1827 he immigrated to Wayne county, and settled on the place where he now lives, in Chester twp. He had the following children: Eliza, Anna, Samuel, Mary, David, George, Margaret, Lydia, Sarah, Amos, Catharine, Jesse, Melvina, Samantha, Elmina and John. Amos married Elizabeth Walkie of Ashland county, Ohio

Jacob Garver died 5-14-1879 aged 78-10-28
Mary, his wife died 4-22-1892 aged 79-1-20
Samantha died 7-29-1863 aged 18-6-12

Catharine Garver m George P Emerick 8-24-1865
