Hello, Tom, my Keister cousin. Thanks for answering. The Henry Stauffer I am looking for, I found had applied for a pension in California in 1892 and his widow had applied in that state in 1894. The widow's name was Hattie C. That much I know for sure. Then I found a Henry as the child of George and Elizabeth in East Union Township in the 1860 census and I am thinking that this might be the same Henry....the age was right. Am now looking for someone who can verify that. I may have to go to Wooster and look at George's estate papers and see if I can find a clue there. So since the Henry I seek died in California, I think that the one buried in Wayne county might not be the same person.
