I have searched the Dexter City, South Olive, and Macksburg Cemeteries. My Great Grandparents, Wesley Elmer & Rebecca Keith are buried at South Olive. I was not able to locate any Keith's buried at Dexter City or Macksburg. The Keith or Keithtown Cemetery does have a number of Keith's buried there but I was not able to locate a Martin Keith and I have not been able to connect or link Martin Keith to who his parents were. It does seem likely, given the geographical closeness of South Olive to Keithtown that he would be connected to one of those families. I have researched the Adam, Peter, Phillip, and Benjamin Keith Families but they show no record of having a son named Martin. Some fellow Keith researchers have suggested the Keith's came into Noble County from Washington County, Ohio and prior to that they may have come from Wood County, W.V. or from Huntingdon or Blair County, Pa. Perhaps his parents died when he was very young and he was raised other relatives or neighbors. It is a mystery ! It's like he just appeared in Noble County, Ohio during the mid 1850's from out of the blue, I can't find a trace prior to 1858.
Do you have any Keith information ?
