Looking for information on John Shaw b. abt 1790; married Sarah Shepherd on December 2, 1815 in Gallia Co., OH – lived in Meigs Co., OH per 1820 & 1830 Meigs Co., Rutland Twp census. Sarah was a daughter of Thomas Sheph(a)erd and Polly McFarland (See Meigs Co., OH History). John Shaw and family moved from Meigs Co., OH to possibly Iowa Territory circa 1839. Son Levi Shaw was born circa 1818 in Meigs County, OH. Levi is listed in the 1850 census in Pulaski Co., MO with wife Mary Ann (Jordan). The other two boys stayed in Pulaski Cty one with the White family and one with the Story family. They lived close together and these two families were actually kin as in-laws (Mrs. White was a Story before she married). Levi enlisted as a Private in Company H, 32nd Missouri Infantry on August 9, 1862 and was listed as being on the hospital boat Isabelle in 1863 and was mustered out in Louisville, KY in 1865. Levi was 42 when he enlisted. According to his military file, Levi stood 5’9 had green eyes, brown hair, and light complexion. He married abt. 1876 Emma (Amy) Elizabeth Gann in Pulaski County, Missouri. Children were: Rebecca Isabelle, Thomas Levi Shaw born 1877 in Arlington, Missouri; John Walter, William David, James Monroe, Robert Floyd, Joseph Edward and a son Luther Earl by his 2 wife. Emma Elizabeth Gann was born abt 1861 in Missouri and daughter of Henry (b. 1832 Tennessee) and Rebecca Gann who was in Pulaski Co., MO in 1860 Census.
