DNA testing has tied the line of WILLIAM GILLESPIE b. 1835 in Ohio to the families of THOMAS GILLESPIE b. 1719 of Rowan Co. NC who married NAOMI THOMPSON and Col. GEORGE GILLESPIE b. 1735 of Limestone, Washington Co. and Greene Co. TN.

I have found older posts that mention other Gillespies that were in Warren Co. OH at an early date, but I don't know if they are the ancestors of this WILLIAM.
