There are several marriages involving four Woodyard siblings in Warren County. They are the children of Samuel and Ann (Posey) Woodyard of Charles County, Maryland who married there on 3 April 1778. Ann had died by 1784 when her children were cited but not named her mother's will.

Ann Woodyard was the daughter of Thomas and Ann (Dunnington) Posey and the stepdaughter of Joseph Ratliff. Samuel Woodyard was the son of Richard and Ann (McClain) Woodyard of Charles County and later Kentucky.

Two of the Woodyard brothers in Warren County married women named Nancy, Richard to Nancy Peck in 1821 and John to Nancy Wilhelm in 1824.

In 1833 Nancy Woodyard, a widow of one of these men, married there a man named John McCabe. Which one?

What is also curious to me is how the four Woodyard children (Samuel Jr., Susanna, Richard and John) arrived in Warren County? Why there and why then? They were all middle-aged by the time they arrived there, their father having died in 1796. Also, did any of them have children there? And if they moved on, where did they go?

Anything is appreciated. Thanks --
