Here is my own update. Happy to share any info with other interested friends or distant cousins.

Thurman turned out to be Firmem Thompson (1823-1874), son of Ephraim Thompson and Anne Slayback. He had a brother Abel Thompson.

Mary Kaus turned out to be Mary Karn(Kern) from Clermont co, d/o Jacob Karn and Anne Haywood.

All of the above are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, Warren co.

I do not think they are related to the family I mentioned in Monroe in Butler. Maybe, but no immediate connection.

If anyone knows the parents of Ephraim, pls contact me. I think Ephraim was a brother to Aaron Thompson (md Lee) and William Thompson (md Blackford) but I lack any solid proof. Perhaps their father was also Wm Thompson and I believe the family may have come from Redstone, Fayette co, PA and perhaps NJ before that. Further conjecture links Ephraim and the others to Jacob Thompson and Ann Downard. Anyone with any info, please respond here or to me. Thank you.
