Thompson and Smock Family

I'm researching the family of Jane Smock and Samuel (or Alfred) Thompson. Jane (b. 11/19/1803, d. 6/15/1885) and several family members are buried in the old Presbyterian Church cemetery in Carlisle (Jane is in grave 288 1/2). Jane and Samuel were apparently married in New Jersey and moved to Ohio in the 1830's, possibly with two of Jane's brothers. While I have Jane's family traced in New Jersey, I'm at a loss as to Samuel's origins. I believe he may have been related to John F. Thompson, who is buried in proximity to Jane at Carlisle. I'd like to make contact with anyone currently reserching Samuel or his descendants.
His sons surviving past the Civil War included John H. Thompson (father of Rulef C. Thompson), George S. Thompson (who apparently moved to Missouri), Samuel L. Thompson (who lived in Darke County), Isaac S. Thompson (who returned to New Jersey), Joseph Thompson (who moved to Tennessee), Theodore Thompson (who lived in Montgomery County). Any leads would be greatly appreciated!
