There is a bio on a Lewis G. Anderson, State Senator and grain dealer, Franklin township, son of Kenneth and Mary (Chamerlain) Anderson who was born near Carlisle Dec. 8, 1826.His father Kenneth was the son of Lewis and Jane (Gaston) Anderson and was born in Monmouth Co. NJ Sept. 30, 1791.The grandfather (of the Lewis about whom the bio is) Lewis is the one I think you may be interested in... according to this book, he was in the war of the Revolution and was captured on Sandy Hook and imprisoned in New York City one year, when he escaped. He came to Franklin in 1832 and died in 1838.Unfortunately, there is no listing of his age or place of burial to confirm that it is in fact the correct Lewis Anderson.
