I am a RAY descendent and researching the family of Thomas and Charity (Teague) Ray pioneers to eastern Ross Co., Ohio about 1803 from North Carolina. The area they lived was originally Harrison township Ross Co. and became Jackson Co. when it was formed and then became Vinton Co. when it was formed. Moses Ray who laid out the village of Raysville was a son of Thomas. Your line, as I have it is from Thomas's son William Ray who married Sarah Bench. William's son Thomas Ray married Dinah Dixon. (Thomas's 4th wife, Hester, received a pension from his service in Civil War. She died Columbus, Ohio 1933.) Thomas & Dinah's son Sylvester born 1846/7 married Alwilda Freeman. Sylvester died 1926 in Pickaway Co., buried Mt. Sterling. Sylvester's children included: Alice, died 1953, mar Henry Yoakum; James F. (Lived Grove City area.); Clinton E.; Barbara Ann died 1952, mar. Charles Redman; Louisa; Lydia mar. William Pracht; Lona Ethel mar. Seymour Chaffin; Nora mar ___ Wilkins (Nora had Theodosia 'Dode' mar Herman Ranke, lived Grove City 1960's, Hazel Harter, David Wilkins, and Chares E. Wilkins), and Thomas R. Ray. Do I have it right? Would like very much to hear from you and learn of more of family of Sylvester. Bob
