Any male age 8 or older with a direct or collateral ancestor who served in the Union forces during the Civil War is eligible to join. Brooks-Grant Camp No. 7 of Middleport meets on the 3rd Tueday of odd months at 7:15 p.m. at the annex of Hope Baptist Church, 570 Grant Street, Middleport. A similar women's group called Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic is accepting charter memberships. This is the nearest group to Vinton County. Keith D.
