FORWALTER-WERNER fams 1860's
Seeking any data on the Jacob FORWALTER fam. and the John (G?) WERNER fam. lived Van Wert,Ohio 1860's. Were German immig's, Lutheran church-goers. Jacob FORWALTER fought in the Civil War from Ohio Reg. Jacob married Susannah WERNER (dtr. of John (G?) WERNER & Miss ?? OTT) (two dates on certificate) 14 March 1876 & 04 April 1876. Ceremony by Pastor John T. Gladhill of the "East?" Lutheran Church, and "sealed" by Judge A.W. Baker (hence the 2 dates) Have original cert. Jacob & Susannah had two children there in Van Wert: Mary Rosetta "Etta" b 29 Oct 1877; & David Aylmer b 23 Aug 1879.Are there christning recs for this church?John (G?) WERNER & Miss OTT had ch: David (killed young by falling tree abt 1870's); John : Susannah b 06 May 1854. Other ch. but not sure of names.Both these families left Van Wert, Ohio abt 1879, in covered wagons heading to Tennessee, settling in the Hamilton Co. area (Chattanooga area) 1879-80.
