I am looking for descendents of David and Miranda (Savage) Wood. She was born 25 Nov 1815. He was born ca 1808. They were married in Milton, NY 11 Feb 1835. They moved to Ohio. In 1850 Census, they lived in Union Co., Liberty Twp, with 4 children, Henry (b. ab 1830), Harriet (b. ab 1843), Joseph (b. ab 1846), and Sarah (b. ab 1849). The 1860 Census had them still in Liberty Twp, with additional children, George (b. ab 1852), Nathaniel W. (b. ab 1854), and Martha (b. ab 1857). The 1870 Census still had them in Liberty Twp, with one more child, Mary (b. ab 1864). The 1880 Census had them living in Hardin Co., Mt. Victory, David was then 71, wife listed as Amanda, age 64 (probably Miranda), and two children still living with them, Martha, then 23, a schoolteacherm and Mary, age 16.

I am attempting to find descendents of any of these lines. My 3rd great-grandfather was Miranda (Savage) Wood's brother, Ezra Wyatt Savage, and I have extensive family history of the Savage line back another 200 years. Miranda and Ezra and another brother Nathaniel were the children of Hiel and Hannah (Wyatt) Savage of Milton, New York. Hiel, Hannah, Ezra and his wife Sally, and the infant son of David and Miranda Wood are buried in Milton, NY in the Powell-Wiswall Cemetery. I have been there and have photographs of it.

There was an attempt in 1928 by a Miss Clara E. Wood, of Dayton, OH to obtain pension records from the Revolutionary War Pension Bureau for David Wood, Hiel Savage, Nathaniel Wyatt and Theodorus Eck (sp?). I have the pension records of Hiel, with a copy of the original note Clara sent them, with their response.

I am now living in Ohio, in Hardin County, and would love to correspond with cousins on the Wood side of the family and share information.

Thanks.
