I checked a CD ROM of OH marriages (1789-1850) and found this for you also.
Now, you have to remember that the people who transcribe the ORIGINAL material, have a very hard task, of reading such old script, many times the ink has faded or else the material is partly missing. With this in mind, I found:
David MEEK married Matilda COLE on April 17, 1822 in Jefferson Co., OH, which is a neighboring county to Tuscarawas Co.
I went back and checked the 1850 census again, and it is definately Daniel, but at first glance it appears to be DAVID. It is very probable that the person who transcribed the marriages, read the Daniel as being David.
BELIEVE ME, those two names are very hard to tell apart on old documents.
