I have ancestors from Bristol as well. When I was a young man (I hate to think about how long ago that was) I was able to view tax records for the township from the 1820's. At the time a clerk took me up into the courthouse tower and the records were piled up on the floor. I have no idea whether or not they were saved when the courthouse was renovated. But if they were, they would be in the new Trumbull County Archives in Warren. Also, there is a History of Bristolville and Bristol Township that includes early tax records. Author's name escapes me right now, but it was done in the bicentennial era.
