Trumbull Cty. obits, cemeteries, various county records, etc., etc.
In glancing over the various inquiries in this forum, I see questions about the identification of obituaries, various records, etc. I have not looked through the inquiries to see if the information I am about to provide appears in any of the followups. Hopefully it provides some help.
I have found the people in the Local History & Genalogy unit of the Warren - Trumbull County Public Library to be very helpful. If one submits brief, concise questions, they will do lookup, etc. Though I have not asked for information for nearly a year, when I did ask questions they reponded within 24 hours. They can be found at: www.wtcpl.lib.oh.us/Go to the Local History & Gen. area and click on "E-mail reference".
16 months ago I had a need for a search of land records at the Trumbull Cty courthouse; to identify land a ancestor owned in Johnston Twp., from 1830 - 1855. A Mr. Kuchar did the search for me - found very valuable information. He did of course charge for his time. It was the people at the Warren - Trumbull Cty. library who referred me to Mr. Kuchar.
I have been to Trumbull Cty. twice; the last time was in 1988. I have completed extensive research about ancestors who lived in Greene & Johnston Twps., which are on the northern side of the county. I have also completed research across the border into Wayne Twp. in Ashtabula Cty. There are many good sources of information - one just needs to do a lot of hunting. The people at the Ashtabula Cty., Hist. Soc., who have a web site, are very helpful also.
