Melissa, Since they died in Youngstown, Mahoning County, OH, you can get their will probate packages from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44502. They were the holders of such info for 1846-1900 rather than the county probate court. I just recently received packages for several forebearers from them. The Archivist is Pamela L. Pletcher. She will look up the files and tell you how much it will cost to send them. Older probate packages tell you quite a bit about the individuals and family. In the older cases everything was done in handwritting rather than typed. This neat thing means you not only get the info but you get copies of actual signatures of decedents and heirs. Probate files after 1900 are located at the Mahoning County Probate Court, 120 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44503. Files predating 1846 are at the Trumbull County Archives, 118 High St, NW, Warren, OH 44481. The upper two-thirds of what is now Mahoning County was Trumbull County before 1846. The lower third was Columbiana County. Probate files for Columbiana County are at the Columbiana County Probate Court Office, 105 S. Market St., Lisbon, OH 44432. Anyone who was mentioned in a will is listed in the probate package and their receipts for probate distributions are signed.
At any rate the probate records should mention death dates. ("In the matter of John Doe, desceased of xxxxxx") Everyone who died, with or without a will has a probate package. One of mine from Trumbull for a lad of 27 without a will has the death date, 3 Jun 1825.
