Akron Election Pamphlets
Posted by: Michael O'Neil (ID *****7491) Date: May 12, 2011 at 00:22:55

Hi Folks,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help with the following.

A family source recalls some sort of 'election pamphlet' which cannot be found for a Patrick F. O'Neil which refers to either his or his father's Civil War service. Patrick died 17 June 1918 and his obit says that he was active at one time in politics in the city and that he was a member of Elks Lodge. He's buried at Saint Vincent's.

I've exhausted all available military/pension/census records. Pretty sure it would have a New York link as he didn't move to Akron until 1879.

Anyone know if this is a lead I can follow to try and find his service information if it was mentioned and it was about him. Reckon the period will be 1890-1915.
