Where is/was Springfield, Portage Co>1840 to Summit Co., today

My search is for a HUTCHINSON family that was in Springfield Twp of Portage Co., Ohio in the 1820 census. I have just been told that Springfield became part of summit Co in 1840.
WHERE is/was this Springfield area today. I do not find in on Mapquest.
Any assistance appreciated
