John CHAPMAN, mid-1800s Hudson merchant?

I am looking for info on earlyish Summit County resident John (L.?) CHAPMAN b maybe 1830ish. He'd have had a hardware store and stove dealership even maybe up to 1880s in Hudson. He seems also to have dealt in real estate, including sale of land Akron-wards to the founder of Quaker Oats company. Did he divorce? Who was his wife, who were his children?
