Lehigh Family
Posted by: Norman Hare (ID *****8227) Date: November 05, 2005 at 11:47:08
  of 1205

About 1805 John Leahy (b. ca. 1762) died in Baltimore Co., Md. or York Co., PA. After his death most of the family removed to Stark Co., OH. His widow, Hannah, last name given as Leighi in the Stark Co., Canton Twp. 1820 Census left between 1810 and 1820. Other variations on her name were Leahy or Lehigh.

Also migrating were:

William Lehigh shown as Lehi in the Stark Co., Perry Twp. 1820 Census and as Lehigh in the
Stark Co., Pike Twp. 1830 Census.

Mary Lehigh md 1st Peter Shorb (Sharp?) who died 21 Dec 1815 in Stark Co., OH. and 2d Abraham Swigert. Could be the Mary Swigert shown in Sugar Creek Twp., Stark Co., OH. in 1840 Census.

Judith Lehigh md. Edward Green (ca. 1810) who may be shown in the 1820 Census of Canton Twp., Stark Co., OH.

Susannah Lehigh md. John T. Rice who is probably enumerated in Plain Twp., Stark Co., OH in 1820.

I would appreciate any leads at all regarding this family.

Norm
