Am searching for any information on the PETER SCHMIDT Family who resided in Massillon in 1860's and 1870's. May also have resided in Massillon as early as 1845. Do not have 1850 Census records. Peter Schmidt and Elisabeth (Elizabeth) Neumann Schmidt had a daughter Mary and a daughter Elizabeth by 1850. They had many children by 1870. Am llooking for any kind of naturalization papers for Peter, Possibly born Baden, Germany around 1818. Elizabeth also born Germany. Their daughter is listed in a Marriage record Book: Elizabeth Schmitt married Jesias Haglock. The family moved to Summit Co. 1870-1880. In Summit county they went by both Schmidt and later Smith names. Thanks.
