Researching SOCIE's in Stark County, Ohio. The family came over from France about 1845 and many remained in the Stark area.
I do not have the 1850 census but I have excess to the 1850 index and can not find them any where in it. Does anyone know how it would have been pronounced? I'm sure its there just not spelled correctly.
My line is (I believe):
Jean "John Baptiste" Socie 1781-1845 wife Marie
Rosan Socie
Appolinaro "Paul" Socie 22Feb1837
Caroline Socie b. c1828
Celestine Socie b. c1825
Charles Socie b. c1840
Adele Socie b. c1834

Any info on this name is GREATLY appreciated.
Sandy Carneiro
