Got a chance to look at the early census records today and it appears my assumption of George & Rebecca Baum being Rebecca Baum's (b. 1829) parents was incorrect. The only Baum in Stark County to have a daughter the right age was Phillip Baum. Phillip was on the 1830 and 1840 census of Stark County but disappeared by 1850 so I don't have a record of his wife's name either. Phillip had 3 male children and 2 female children.
The oldest Baum on the census would be Frederick Baum. The next generation would include John Sr and George Sr. The latest generation would be John Jr,George Jr, and Phillip. George Jr. and John Jr.'s children are listed with them on the 1850 census.
Frederick Baum (b. 1728 Bame, Franche'comet, , France; d. 1831 Sandy Twp, Stark Co, OH)was married to Barbara Wilhemina Uhlmann (b. 1738 Philadelphia, PA, d. 1835 Sandy Twp, Stark Co, OH)
John married Catherine Randolph and Mary Ullery. I don't know if Frederick married. Jonas married Elizabeth Zacharias. Catherine Baum married a Michal. Susanna Baum apparently married Christopher Bair in 1794 and eventually moved to Kalamazoo Co, MI. Mary married Daniel Ringle. Elizabeth married a Vanosten. Barbara married John Graff.
John Baum Sr. on the census is Frederick's oldest son. John Baum Jr. is Jonas Baum's son. Who are George (b. 1775-1780), George Jr. (b. 1800-1810) and Phillip (b. 1800-1810)? Did Frederick marry and have any children? Anybody have answers or corrections?
John Baum Sr. & Catherine Randolph
Jonas Baum & Elizabeth Zacharias
I really want to know where Phillip Baum fits in and a verification that Rebecca is Philip's daughter.
