A Hemminger mystery. Lewis Hemminger and Caroline Hilt lived in Seneca County,

I have a page from the family Bible that states "Lewis Hemminger, the uncle of my wife (who was Ella May Hemminger) died July 17, '89 and was buried at Green Springs, Seneca County, Ohio on July 19th '89 aged 64 years and 11 days. Funeral text was Psalms 39.4"

I also have some government documents that show Lewis and Caroline Hemminger as witness in 1876 where they then lived in east Toledo. I can find absolutely no mention of Lewis's brother or nephew, Mary Jane's first husband, Isaac Hemminger who was in the Civil War (joined in Michigan) and married Mary Jane Craft in Saginaw, Michigan and lived in Bangor, Michigan. I can find no other Lewis Hemminger of Green Springs with a wife named Caroline. On the papers they were witnesses to, Caroline Hemminger "made her mark" and her name was written in. I don't know if she could not write, or if she had hurt her hand in some way and couldn't write on that day.

Lewis was born about 1824 and Isaac about 1830. Isaac and Mary Jane had one child, Ella May Hemminger. After Isaac was killed in the Civil War, Mary Jane married a man named Bradley Brookins. Ella May was born in 1862. Isaac and Mary Jane were married about 1853 or 1854.

If you have any information about the Lewis Hemminger and wife Caroline that lived in Seneca County, perhaps you know whether it was this Lewis or another that was Isaac's brother (or possibly uncle). I can find no mention of Isaac in any of the records that relate to Lewis, except for the government papers and family Bible. Any help would be appreciated.
